Emily Porcello Doucette Quirk, 90 years old, passed away on June 8th at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Emily was a lifelong resident of Salem, and graduated Salem High class of 1942. She moved into Sunrise Assisted Living in Peabody last year. Emily's family would like to thank both facilities for the compassionate care they gave Emily.

People will remember Emily as the doll lady because she collected 1000's of dolls. Many of the dolls were Barbie's that she displayed in continually changing scenes in her bay window on Bridge St.
The most important things in Emily's life were her family and dancing.
Being the second eldest of 12 children, the mother of six, stepmother of four, a grandmother of ten, a great grandmother and the aunt to three generations of more than 50 nieces and nephews, Emily was always attending a wedding, baby shower, baptism, birthday party or other family event.

Emily was a member of the Elks, Moose clubs, the YMCA water aerobics, and the Red hat Society. She was a long time volunteer at the Heritage Center when it was located in Salem.

Emily is predeceased by her husbands Francis Doucette and Leo Quirk. Her close friend Henry Quirk also predeceased her.

Emily leaves behind her daughter Rita Molloy and her husband Thomas of Portland ME, her daughter Janet Doucette and her husband Dennis Vallee of Salem, Ma, her son Daniel Doucette and his wife Paula of Portland, ME, her daughter Nancy Blais and her husband Donald of Byfield Ma, her son Thomas and his wife Debra of Beverly, MA, and her daughter Andrea LeBlanc, R.N. and her husband Paul. She leaves behind her stepchildren Richard Quirk of Jacksonville North Carolina, Claire LeClaire of Winter Park FL, and William of North Carolina. Her stepson James Quirk of South Bend IN predeceased her.

Emily also leaves behind her sisters Theresa Bennet and her husband Richard of Danvers, and Catherine Fish and her husband Joel of Osterville, her brothers Caesar Porcello of Peabody, Anthony Porcello and his wife Edna also of Peabody, and Peter Porcello and his wife Carol of Salem and her sisters- in- law Ann Porcello of Salem, Rose Porcello of King of Prussa, PA and Lucile Folsom-Mason and her husband Terry of Fort Lauderdale FL. Emily is predeceased by her mother Catherine (Molina) Porcello and father Joseph Porcello, her sisters Rita Porcello and Mary Porcello, her brothers Edward Porcello, Rudolph Porcello, William Porcello all of Salem and her brother Joseph Porcello of Syracuse NY. Her sisters-in-law Mary (Betty) Porcello of Peabody and Marie Porcello of Salem also predeceased her.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday June 11, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem, Ma. On Friday June 12, 2015 the funeral procession will gather at Murphy Funeral Home at 9 a.m. and proceed to the Saint Mary's Immaculate Conception Church at 15 Hawthorne Blvd in Salem for a funeral mass at 10:00 AM celebrating Mary's life followed by the burial at St. Mary's Cemetery .
