Kelsey Madison Capener passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in a tragic boating accident on Bear Lake.

She was born October 18, 2001 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Lance J. Capener and Kathryn Stockdale Capener.

Kelsey attended Orion Junior High School, where she liked her science class. She was on the Highest Honor Roll each quarter and a member of the Junior National Honor Society.

Kelsey built a very full life in a few short years. She loved cheer, dance, tumbling, soccer and piano. She was very excited about her accomplishments in competitive dance. She was very goal-oriented; she was constantly practicing dance moves in the kitchen or back handsprings in the yard. Kelsey was always optimistic and seemed to be mature beyond her years. Kelsey was compassionate; she loved to do things for other people and was always making extra efforts to be a friend to anyone who looked like they needed one.

Kelsey is survived by her mother and brother. She is also survived by her grandparents. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Stockdale. She was joined in death by her father, Lance Capener, and her sister, Kilee Capener.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Pleasant View Stake Center, 2975 N. 1000 W. Pleasant View. An overflow site for the services will be located at 3035 N. 1325 W. Pleasant View. A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 11th from 5 to 8 p.m. and prior to the service on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Pleasant View Stake Center.

Interment Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
