Born in Dinwiddie, VA, on October 3, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John Alfred and Mary Elizabeth Williams Bishop; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert E. "Tommy" Coburn.
Mrs. Coburn was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church and was also a well-known seamstress in the community.
She is survived by two sons, Sonny Coburn (Nancy) and Gerry Coburn (Glenda); one daughter, Carol Vaughan (James); five grandchildren, Eddie Coburn, Stacy Layne, James Coburn, Steve and Gregory Vaughan; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Betty Bishop.
