On April 15th, 2007 a week after she learned to walk, Taegen who was only about 20 pounds and knee high, was stomped to death by her baby-sitter's boyfriend. He confessed he tried to jump over Taegan, who was laying on the floor at her babysitter's home, and landed on top of the small child instead.

I have a little granddaughter, who means the world to me,She's living with the Angels and is as special as can be,And even though she's up playing in the clouds,She's still my precious Granddaughter andI am so very proud. Her Picture takes pride on my living room wall,Ready to be admired by all who come to call.I know I can not hold her, or bounce her on my knee,But only have to close my eyes, her lil face to see.I will never stop missing her and wishing she were here,But sometimes I feel, indeed I know she is near.So play happily lil Taegen, you will never be forgot,I love you so and always will, though I miss you such a lot.
LOVE YOU BABY GIRL,
GRANDMA JAN
