Walter Keith "Jimmy" Oslin, 87, of Scottsville, died on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born on June 24, 1924, in New Canton, a son of the late William Hugh and Josephine (Gormus) Oslin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters; and two brothers. Mr. Oslin retired from Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company and was an active member of the Scottsville Presbyterian Church, having served as an Elder. He was a member of the Scottsville Masonic Lodge #45 A.F. & A.M., the Acca Temple Shrine in Richmond and was past-president of the Piedmont Shrine Club, the Harold R. Stephenson Scottish Rite in Fork Union and Richmond, the Scottsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Scottsville Lions Club. Additionally, he was founder of Southern Albemarle Family Practice in Esmont, previous chairman of Scottsville Recreation, Inc. and had served on the Board of the Jordan Corporation of the Scottsville School Apartments. Survivors include his devoted wife, Arlene Toms Oslin; a daughter, Sharon J. Workman and her husband, Lloyd, of Earlysville; granddaughter, Joanna Wise and her husband, Kenneth, of Ruckersville; grandsons, Keith Workman of Earlysville and Corey Workman and his special friend, Maddy Posten, of Ruckersville; great-grandsons, Dakota Rothgeb, Robbie Proffitt, Christopher Wise, Jackson Wise, Bryce and Corey Michael Workman. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home by the Reverends Gordon Lindsey and James Jetton. Burial will follow at Rock Spring United Methodist Church Cemetery in Faber. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Scottsville Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 186; the Shriners Hospital for Children, c/o Brian LaFontaine, P.O.
