Esther M. Simmons 92 of Berkeley Springs passed away Wednesday June 10, 2015 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born May 24, 1923 in Petersburg, WV. Daughter of the late George Bergdoll and Hattie Shoemaker Bergdoll.

She was retired from the Environmental Service Group of Washington County Hospital. She had attended Emmanuel Baptist Temple in Hagerstown. She was previously active with the Jolly Sixties of the Church.

Preceded in death by her husband Lacy Simmons Oct. 7, 1992 they were married Aug. 22, 1942. Four sisters and four brothers. Two grand children and one great-granddaughter.

Surviving are her daughter Loretta M. Miller of Berkeley Springs. Sons Lacey E. Simmons of Smithsburg, MD and Eugene Simmons of Hagerstown, MD. Her brother Ray Bergdoll of Moorefield, WV. Six grandchildren , seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Two great-great granddaughters And many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home Friday June 12, from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be Saturday June 13, at 1pm at the Funeral Home. Conducted by the Rev. William Swope. Graveside Service at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Hagerstown Monday June 15, at 2pm.
