CALDWELL —George Harry Bloomfield, 66, of 722 South Fifth street, a Caldwell businessman, died Wednesday night in a Caldwell hospital.
Mr. Bloomfield was born Oct. 5, 1886, in Queens county, Ireland. and came with his parents to the U.S. when he was six months of age. The family located at Siloam Spring, Ark. He was married Jan. 19, 1919, at Siloam Springs, to Laura Olive Philpott. He served with the Army during World War I, and later the couple moved to South Dakota.
Mr. Bloomfield came to Caldwell in 1928 and purchased the Waldorf Cigar store, which, he operated. He was married April 26, 1952, at Winnemucca, Nev., to Mrs. Isabelle Massengale of Caldwell.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Isabelle Bloomfield of Caldwell; two sons, Caleb C, and Donald I. Bloomfield, both of Caldwell; one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Ellen Horn In Washington; one step son, Ben Massengale with the Navy at San Diego; three step-daughters, Mrs. Frances Sellers of Othello, Wash., and Mrs. Dorothy Herman and Mrs. Mary F. Newell, both of Caldwell; five brothers. Caleb G., and Abe Bloomfield, both of Caldwell, Sam of Oklahoma City and Bass and Frank Bloomfield, both of Pierre, Mo., and three sisters, Mrs. Marie O'Donnel and Mrs. Lucy Doyle, both of Hannibal, Mo., and Mrs. Temperance Press of Jackson, Va.
Services will be conducted at Peckham-Dakan chapel Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Bishop Josephson will officiate and the American Legion will conduct services at Canyon Hill.
