Lloyd F. Champion, 92, of Murray, KY, formerly of Cherokee County, died Tuesday (May 4, 2004) at his residence. A native of Minidoka County, ID, he was the son of the late Macon and Maude Eunice Moody Champion and the husband of the late Grace Hamby Champion, who died May 5, 1982. Lloyd was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army in the 727 M.P. Battalion stationed in Iran in the Persian Gulf. He received the African Middle Eastern Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and WWII Victory Award. He retired from Union Carbide in 1974 and he also worked for T.V.A. and as a farmer. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Murray, KY.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Bill" Champion and Boyd Champion.
Surviving are a niece, Lisa Forshee and husband, Anthony of Gracey, KY; three nephews, Lindsey Champion and wife, Joy of Cadiz, KY, Lorin Champion and wife, Vicky of Gracey, KY, and Danny Champion and wife, Teresa of Murray, KY.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Bill" Champion and Boyd Champion.
