Starkville - Joseph Clenton Richey, 71, died Sunday, April 11, 1993, at his home. He was a retired restauranteur, the former manager of the Pig 'n' Whistle in Memphis and the former owner of Richey's Restaurant in Columbus, Louisville and Starkville. He was a member of the Mississippi Restaurant Association. He was a Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Scottish Rites. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the VFW. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisville.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Center Cemetery in New Albany. Welch Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter, Lynda Paige Cobb of Kingwood, Texas; one son, Brent Steven Richey of Starkville; three sisters, Mary Elder of New Albany, Bessie Donnahoo and Virgie Potter, both of Fort Worth, Texas; two brother Willis Richey of Tupelo and Thomas Richey of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
