Robert E. Waite, 93, of Butler, PA, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Chicora Medical Center.
He was born December 1, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late Ezra and Margaret (Binney) Waite.
Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marines having served during WWII. He was a member of Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church. He was a lifelong member of Masonic Temple, American Legion #117 and the Elks of Butler. He was an avid gardener. Robert retired in 1985 from Hartford Steam Boiler I & I Company.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Susan Waite and Roberta Wallace; son, Robert Waite; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary S. Waite.
Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Butler, on Sunday, June 14, 2015.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 15th at 1PM.
