Sarah Ann Tye Colley's parents are unknown. Her children claim she said she was from Quitman County, GA. Her father is thought to have died in 1844 and her mother in 1848. Her only known brother is William Alexander Tye (1842-1927). He is buried in Old Dickey Presbyterian Cemetery in Calhoun County, GA. There are also several other children whose names are unknown. After the death of the parents the children were all sent off to live with various relatives. William lived with an uncle, Alexander Crumley. Sarah Ann was living with the E. E. DuBose family in Barbour County, AL in 1850. Reuben Tye was a relative, but the relationship is not known. Sarah Ann died before death certificates were required. The parents are listed as unknown on William's death certificate. If anyone has any additional information, please let me know. We have been trying to determine the parents for many, many years.
