Della E. Morris
Della E. Morris, 96, of Nampa, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at the Caldwell LDS Stake Center, 3015 S. Kimball Ave., with Bishop LeRoy Miller of the Fourth Ward conducting. Burial will be at Canyon Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. The family will receive friends in the Relief Society Room beginning one hour prior to the services.
Della was born Jan. 20, 1907, in Willow Springs, Mo., to Daniel and Ellen Collins Freeman, where she was raised and educated. She married Orvel Morris on Aug. 5, 1923, in Willow Springs. They later moved to Idaho in 1935 and settled in Arena Valley where they purchased an 80 acre farm. Together they farmed there for 40 years, later moving to Caldwell, where she resided for 26 years. Mr. Morris died March 20, 1981. She moved to Nampa two years ago, where she had since resided.
Della enjoyed the great outdoors, and loved going to the mountains to fish and cut wood. She also loved to crochet. Della was a very hard worker and a wonderful caregiver to her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Elmer and Naomie Morris, of Kalispell, MT; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ilene and Clyde Kildow and Ellene and Clyde Hinkle, all of Nampa; 15 grandchildren; 68 great- and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mollie Freeman of Caldwell, and Annis Clinton and Mabel Brown, both of Parma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orvel; an infant son, Earl; three brothers; a sister; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice, the family members that helped care for Della, and especially Ellene Hinkle for all her special care.
