Irvin Corning
Graveside services for Irvin M. Corning, 80, of Caldwell, who died Tuesday, September 15, 1992, at the Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 18, 1992, at the Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, Idaho, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Mr. Corning was born January 14, 1912, at Windred, South Dakota, a son of Nathan and Lucy Morss Corning. In 1933 he moved with his family to Caldwell. In 1936 Irvin, his brothers and two friends formed a small orchestra and they played at local radio stations and many area dances. He married Marie Ferne Hunt on June 22, 1939, at Council, Idaho. Irvin lived and farmed in the Pleasant Ridge Community. He was a builder and enjoyed doing carpenter work.
Survivors include his wife, Ferne of Caldwell; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dale Corning, Vern and Rosemarie Corning, all of Caldwell, and Larry and Debra Corning of Nampa; two sisters-in-law; one grandson, Tony Corning of Mesa, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
The family suggests that memorials be given to the American Heart Association, 3295 Elder St., Suite 140, Boise, Idaho 83704; or to a favorite charity.
