Graveside services for David Adams, 70, of Caldwell, who died Friday, Sept. 20, at a Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Canyon Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Raymond Thompson of the United Methodist Church, Caldwell, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mr. Adams was born Oct. 17, 1914, in Troup, Texas, to David and Marnie Adams. He was raised in Troup and married Mozell Lacy June 19, 1937, in Troup. They came to Caldwell in May of 1953 where he had been a farm worker for 25 years. Mrs. Adams died July 3, 1981.
He is survived by two sons, John L. Adams and David Adams Jr., Caldwell; seven daughters, Inell Ausborne and Billie Jean Ausborne, both of Tyler, Texas, Leora Churchman of Alamorgordo, N. M., Shirley Thacker, Willa Alexander and Willie Jean Adams, all of Caldwell, and Betty J. Grant of Dallas, Texas; five sisters, Irene Erwin, Ruth Brooke, Florine Clayton and Leona Lacey, all of Texas and Effie Dennis of California; and two brothers, Jay Spencer and Jesse Spencer, both of Texas; 22 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; and a family friend, Mrs. Tommie Kelly of Tacoma, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, three daughters, four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 tonight.
