GLEN ROSE — Alan Leroy Thompson, 64, passed away Monday, June 24.
Alan was born on Aug. 20, 1948, to C.B. and Juanita Thompson. He married Janice Raye Spencer on Dec. 26, 1969. Their daughter, Elizabeth Jaye, was born May 26, 1978.
Alan was employed as a police office in Irving prior to being elected to serve as Somervell County constable. He held the local office for 23 years. Alan was also employed by Unimin Corporation for 35 years and was an active member of the National Rifle Association.
In lieu of a funeral service, Alan requested that his remains be donated to UT Southwestern Medical Center for medical research.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Andrea Dawn; brother, Danny Thompson; sister, Linda Beauchamp; brother-in-law, Bob Spencer; and his parents.
Survivors include wife, Jan; daughter, Jaye; brothers, Jimmy Thompson and wife Michelle, Roger Thompson, Tommy Thompson; sister, Shirley Gray and husband Tim; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
