Preston Friend Buried at Isabella
Funeral services for Johnny Preston Friend, 75, Ava, were held in the Clinkingbeard Chapel there Saturday with the Rev. Billy Cole officiating. Burial was in Isabella Cemetery.
Mr. Friend died Monday at Cox Medical Center, Springfield, following a long illness.
He was a member of the Church of God and Sampson Lodge at Theodosia. He was born in Ozark county Oct 30, 1897, the son of Calvin E. and Lula Webster Friend. He was first married to Eulah Hart, who preceded him in death. He was later married to Ada Sherill, who survives.
Survivors besides his wife are four sons, Harold, Phoenix, Ariz., E. L., Springfield, James , Neosho and Samuel, Springfield; two daughters, Mrs. Lucy Sherrill, Springfield, and Mrs. Eunice Green, Springfield; one brother, Noel, Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Jones and Mrs. Beulah Jones, both of Springfield, and Mrs. Eulah Hampton, Theodosia; 27 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
