CORINTH – Leonard “Penny” Dyson, 71, died Friday, May 14, 2004, at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center. He was a retired purchaser for Quartet Corp. He was a graduate of Corinth High School and served in the U.S. Army in Korea and Japan. He was a member of the Holly Baptist Church and the American Legion. He loved his family and enjoyed his church, baseball and the American Legion.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tony Marrow and Bro. Keith Dowden officiating. Burial will be in the Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Maurice Cornelius Dyson of Corinth; one son, Dale Keith Dyson and wife, Rita, of Corinth; two brothers, H.D. Dyson and wife, Joyce, of Amarillo, Texas, and Billy Wayne Dyson and wife, Doris, of Corinth; two sisters, Lila Poindexter of Glen and Ada Lee Jones of Corinth; two grandchildren, Hope McDonald of Manning, S.C., and husband, Sr. Chief Petty Officer Mark McDonald, serving in Iraq, and Rachel Sobota and husband, Steve, of Cordova, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Megan McDonald and Noah Mc Donald.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel B. and Nicie Hamilton Dyson; and two brothers, Gilbert Dyson and James Dyson.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
