Kenneth "Moose" Bebernes passed away June 8, 2015 in his Solvang home surrounded by family after an injury and short illness at the age of eighty-seven.

He was born to Peter and Margaret Bebernes on December 27, 1927 in Santa Barbara. A resident of Solvang his entire life, Moose played baseball, football, and basketball for Santa Ynez High School before graduating in 1946.

Moose married Beverly Hudson of Buellton in January 1950 and his employment included truck driving and thirty-eight years working as a plant foreman for Buellflat Rock Company.

He was an original member of the Ranch Course at Alisal, enjoying countless hours of companionship with his fellow golfers for over fifty-five years. He also loved camping with Bev and friends at Pismo Beach and took great joy in anything involving sports or his family. He was heavily involved in the local community, specifically with fundraising for the Elks Queen.

Moose was a quiet, unassuming man whose every acquaintance was a friend, always cheerful and willing to sacrifice for his family and friends. He was well-known in the community and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Moose was preceded in death in 2010 by Beverly, his wife of sixty-one years. He is survived by his three sons, Scott Bebernes (wife, Tina) of Rancho Cucamonga, Pete Bebernes (Ginger) of Placerville, and Bill Bebernes (Debby) of Solvang; nine grandchildren, Kerri, Ken, Krista, Rodney, Mike, Danny, Jenna, Hudson, and Casey; and nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Ballard at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015.
