Masonic services were held Sunday evening, April 15, in the funeral home.
The son of John T. and Ruth Buckley, he was born October 6, 1897, near Henderson, Tenn. On September 8, 1920, in Hayti,, he was married to Miss Bonnie Hart.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge of Hayti and was the last charter member of the Hayti Lions Club. He also served as a director of the Hayti Building and Loan Assn., was organizer and long time director of the Hayti Industrial Association and was president of the Hayti school board for sixteen years.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Buckley of Hayti, a son, Lt. Col. Blair Buckley Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Bryden (Barbara) Pease Jr. of Gulfport, Miss., and seven grandchildren.
