She was born May 2, 1902, near Calvert, the daughter of Ernest W. and Margaret A. Harral Huford. In 1911, she moved with her family to the Erie area where she grew up and attended school. She also attended business college at Chanute.
She was married to Walter H. Crapson of Feb. 24, 1929, at Chanute. Following their marriage; they lived for a time in the Odense area until moving to a farm near Hepler. In 1945, they purshased a farm near Walnut where she lived until 1973 when she moved into Walnut. Her husband preceeded her in death May 24, 1972.
She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Erie, the Walnut Country Club and the 20th Century Club. She was a avid gardener and seamstress. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and painting.
Survivors include one son, Dwight Crapson, of Walnut; two daughters, Florence French of Lexington, Mo., and Pearl Wintjen of Nevada, Mo.; 11 grandchildren: 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. Ond brother, Clarence Hurford, Poteau, OK., and one sister, Alberta McCoy of Chanute.
In addition to her husband, she was preceeded in death by four brothers, two sistersm three grandchildren and a son-in-law.
Funeral services were held a 1:30 p.pm Tuesday, Jan 4, at the Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bingham officiating. Burial was at the Walnut Cemetery near Walnut.
