Jerry Lee Blunk Sr., of Wellington, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at his home in Wellington, Kansas at the age of 64.
Jerry was born the son of Alfred and Charlotte Grace Ann (Hollister) Blunk on Wednesday, March 14, 1951 in Joplin, Missouri.
On June 11, 1972, Jerry and Cindy Smith were united in marriage in Clearwater, Kansas. Together they celebrated 43 years of marriage.
Jerry devoted his time and career to public service and has been a Sumner County Sheriff Deputy for over 21 years.…
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Blunk of Wellington, Kansas, daughter, Michelle Lafferty and her husband Rustin of Inman, Kansas, daughter, Heidi Blunk (Christopher Gorges) of Wellington, Kansas, son, Jerry Blunk of Wellington, Kansas and his grandson, Bently Blunk of Wellington, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Teresa Guillory.
A visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2015 at Day Funeral Home & Crematory, Wellington, Kansas.
Memorial services for Jerry will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Wellington, Kansas.
Interment will follow at the Argonia Cemetery in Argonia, Kansas.
