Joseph Wickoff died 25 July 1810 in the 51 year of his age.
Joseph, along with his brothers, Cornelius and William (see Hopewell Burying Ground, Ontario County, NY) and father, Peter, served in the militia near Muncy in Pennsylvania during the Revolutionary War. Joseph was captured by the British in April 1779 near Muncy and was held captive for over four years. He met and married Keziah Foree, who was also a prisoner. They were married at Montreal 7 July 1783. Joseph and Keziah had 9 children -- Peter b. 1784, Mary b. 1785, Jane b. 1787, Margaret (1789-1860), Judith b. 1790 d.y., Joseph (1793-1878), William b. 1796, John, (1801-1879), and Nancy, b. 1808.
