Beckman, Linus,
79 years old, was welcomed home by his Heavenly Father on June 18, 2015.
Linus was born in Siberia, Indiana to the late Anton and Martha (Schlauchter) Beckman.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy of 57 years. Left to cherish the memories of their father are, Richard (Teresa), Randy, Denis (Tracy), Stephen (Christina). 8 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 cherished sister Joan Jamniczky. He was preceded in death by a son (infancy), his parents, 7 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Linus volunteered and served in the United States Army during the Korean War, was a member of American Legion post 28 and VFW post 3281. He retired from Eastern Airlines after 33 years as a ticket agent to start and did many other jobs with one exception of flying the airplane during his career. Linus was the last founding member of Pine Springs, Inc. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved anything outdoors, and enjoyed playing cards and visits from friends and family.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm Sunday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St. New Albany, IN. His funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Monday at St. Mary's Navilleton Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.
