Karen Lavon Alumbaugh was born on May 23, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri. Her parents are Betty (Gruver) Alumbaugh and the late Carl Alumbaugh. Karen graduated from high school in Kansas City, Missouri in 1976. She was employed with Dunkin Donuts, where she moved to Arizona in 1980 before moving back to Kansas City all while being employed with Dunkin Donuts. Karen was employed with Food Land/IGA in Kansas City at the 75th and Wornall Store, where she met Rob Eatmon, who remains a close friend of the family to this day. She also was employed with Food Land in Lee's Summit and Brookside, where she met Dennis Uselman. Karen attended Central Missouri State University, where she attained a bachelor's degree in nursing on December 13, 1997. She resided in Kingsville, where she commuted to Brookside and Hope Care Center. On August 8, 2001, Karen was united in marriage to Dennis Uselman in Wadena, Minnesota. Karen and Dennis made their home in Minnesota in 2002. Karen was also employed for a short time at the Elders Home in New York Mills and the Golden Living Center in Henning and most recently at Lakeland Hospice in Fergus Falls. Karen enjoyed gardening, family and friends. Karen always gave special thought and care of others.
Karen passed away peacefully on June 13, 2015, at her home in Henning, Minnesota, at 57 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Karen is survived by her husband, Dennis Edward Uselman of Henning; mother, Betty Alumbaugh of Henning; son, Jason (Jana) Alumbaugh of Ishpeming, MI; granddaughter, Janelle Alumbaugh; step-children: Mikaela Uselman of Walker; Matthew Uselman of Minneapolis; many other relatives and a host of friends.
