Funeral services were held Saturday at Dunkard Brethren Church in Dallas Center followed by burial at Brethren Cemetery.
Sadie was born in Quinter, Kan. on May 11, 1911. On November 12, 1939, she was united in marriage to Adam Russell Hoffeditz. They established their home on a farm near Bouton.
Sadie's loving hands were always busy helping others by sewing, cooking, canning and gardening. She will be long remembered for her quilts and embroidery work. She was never idle.
After enjoying many years of farm life, they retired in Perry. In 1975 Russell died. She moved to Dallas Center in 1977 to be near her family and church. Sadie was a charter member of the Quinter Dunkard Brethren Church.
In 1981 she married Ronald Handsaker. He passed away in 1987. Preceding her in death were her husbands; her parents, her infant daughter, Kathleen; two brothers, Dennis and Walter; and two sisters, Effie Morphew and Minnie Brooks.
She is survived by one sister, Addie Royer, and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Friday evening at Iles Funeral Homes Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center. Memorial Contributions can be made to Gideon's International or the Dunkard Brethren Church.
