Kenneth Doyle Campbell, of Pauls Valley was born October 21, 1926 in Love County at Postoak, Oklahoma to O. U. and Sophia Savannah Campbell.

He passed away August 2, 2005 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years.

He grew up and attended Elementary and High School in Pernell. While in High School his family moved to Paoli and is a graduate of the Paoli High School. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II.

Following his tour of duty, he furthered his education by attending East Central University in Ada where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree and later earned his Master's Degree and Standard Superintendent's Certification from the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

He and Opal Wood were married at the Paul and Pine Church of Christ in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on December 22, 1954.

During his career in education he has taught in Klondike Elementary, Maysville High School and Hickory Elementary. He served as High School Principle in Davis, Oklahoma and became County Superintendent of Schools in Garvin County where he served until his retirement.

Kenneth loved working with young people and felt it was his responsibility as an adult and educator to make a quality education available to as many young people as possible.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O. U. & Sophia Savannah (Norman) Campbell and a sister, Zoe Ann Sheriff.

Surviving family include his wife of over 50 years, Opal, of the home; two children, Kenneth Campbell, Jr. of Stratford and Tami Beth Nicholas & her husband, Corey of Stillwater; 5 grandchildren, Jake Gaden, Kale Gaden, Tyler Nicholas, Kendal Nicholas and Abbi Beth Nicholas as well as three nieces, Julie Booher, Patti Sheriff and Laura Matheny.

The family requests that memorials in the name of Kenneth Campbell be made to the Valley Hospice at 100 Valley Drive in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma 73075.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 6, 2005 at 10:30 am at Stufflebean Chapel officiated by Roy Shave and Bill Campbell. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
