John Jackson Munn was born in 1855 to Daniel and Evelyn Jernigan Munn.
In 1881 he married Isabella - Belle McEachern, daughter of Daniel Cameron McEachern and Sara Lee McEachern. They had one child, Talmage Munn. Isabella died of unknown causes in 1883.
In 1886, JJ Munn married for the second time to Ida Thrash. She was the daughter of Hillary David Thrash and Ann Eliza Persons Thrash. JJ Munn and Ida Thrash go on to have seven more children.
JJ Munn was the owner of Munn & Co General Merchandise in Tennille, Alabama in the early 1900's. He was also the Postmaster of Tennille from 1900-1906. The post office was located in his store.
He died at age 75 in Dale County, Alabama and was buried in Tennille.
