Mrs Margaret Condit Kinney Bassett died at her home "Beacon Hill" in Summit, on Sunday, February 28.
Born in Newark, she was the daughter of Thomas Talmidge Kinney, owner and editor of the old Newark Daily Advertiser, and Estelle (nee Condit) Kinney. She came to Summit 40 years previous to her death. She founded the Summit Garden Club in 1916 and was President of the New Jersey State Association Opposed to Woman Suffrage.
Surviving are two sons, Carroll Kinney Bassett of Montpelier Station, VA and William B.K. Bassett of Pottersville; a daughter, Mrs. R.W. Pomeroy of Millbrook, NY and 6 grandchildren.
