On Saturday morning Mrs. VanDorous Martin was laid to rest at the Hickory Cemetary. She had reached the ripe age of eighty years and was the mother of 7 children, 3 of whom Manning, Hortence and Melinda with their aged father, survive the deceased. The deceased was Miss Diannia (Beaman) and was born in Jennings Co, Indiana Feb 13, 1831 and died July 13, 1911. Services were held on Saturday morning, Phillip Vollman, Jr. officiating. Mother Martin passed away at her home in the northeast part of town Friday night after an illness of 4 years.
