Mr. Angel's funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at First Baptist of Summerfield, with Dr. David Richard Odem and Rev. Roger Barricks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A Guilford County native, Mr. Angel was born on May 18, 1947, the son of the late Ivan and Mary Winfree Angel. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Summerfield. He loved dancing, playing cards, and Elvis. He also loved bowling at Buffalo Lanes, where he won many awards with the Special Olympics. He was also crowned King at the Ace fall prom.
Surviving are his sister, Barbara Cockman of the home; two nieces and one nephew; four great-nieces, and four great-nephews; one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew.
The family will receive friends from 7 tp 9 p.m. on Monday at Forbis & Dick Brooke Chapel in Stokesdale.
Memorials may be made to the Adult Center for Enrichment, 4100 Wellsprings Drive, Greensboro, NC 27410 in honor of Mr. and I. I. Angel.
