He was born in Harrisburg, the son of the late Robert K. and Leah F. (Lusk) Cook.
Dean graduated from William Penn High School in February 1943 and was active in the Alumni Association.
He was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.
Dean was a retired Supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service.
He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Dean was a former Officer in the Old Timers Sports Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters: Miriam Baer and Virginia (Tib) Hanawalt.
Dean is survived by his daughter: Jacalyn Calrk of Killeen, Texas; his sons: Al Cook of Trout Run and Dean A. Cook, Jr. of Harrisburg; his four grandsons; his two great-grandchildren; his sister: Doris Hanawalt of Allentown; and his two brothers: Richard Cook of New Cumberland and Robert Cook of Cincinnatti, Ohio.
Services were at the convenience of the family.
