Rose Griffin, 98, of 114 Wawbeek Ave, Tupper Lake, died Friday, April 9, 2004 at Mercy Health Care Center in Tupper Lake.
Born December 16, 1905 in Malone, NY, she was the daughter of Joseph and Matilda (LaPrade) Loffler.
She married Nathaniel Griffin on October 10, 1928 at Notre Dame Church in Malone. He predeceased her on June 9, 1974.
Mrs. Griffin had been a resident of Tupper Lake since 1980 coming from Malone. She worked as a telephone operator before becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, and baking. She was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church.
She is survived by one son, Robert and his wife, Joan Griffin of Potsdam, NY; one daughter, Marie Lewis of Tupper Lake; one sister, Elizabeth North of Tupper Lake; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, three greatgreat-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She,was predeceased by five brothers.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home in Tupper Lake today (Wednesday), April 14, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Alphonsus Church with Rev. Donald Kramberg officiating. Burial will be in the St. John Bosco Cemetery in Malone in May.
Friends wishing to remember Mrs. Griffin may make memorial contributions to the Tupper Lake Volunteer Ambulance Squad in care of the funeral home.
