Well known Baptist Minister known for his "Sincerity of Purpose, Homely Wit, Humor, and Godly Life". He was married to Nancy Ellen Vaughn on Dec. 23, 1873, they were blessed with nine children, Edward, Washington, Joseph, Talitha, Iva, Effie, Edith, Arthur & Carl--only Effie and Edith survived after Nancy and Tom passed on.

Son Thomas Carl (victim of the 1925 tornado)& daughter Edith are also buried @ Knight's Prairie, Daughter Effie is buried @ Smith Cem. and Daughter Iva D is buried in Butler Co., MO.

Uncle Tom, as he was affectionately known, pastored many Baptist Churches in Hamilton county during his life, including New Salem, Knight's Prairie, Antioch, Prospect, Macedonia, just to name a few. His son, Thomas Carl Hunt was killed in the great Tri State Tornado when it swept through the Knights Prairie/Braden Valley area in 1925 and Uncle Tom was buried under a pile of rubble at the Mezo farm (His in-laws)--he lived another eleven years. He Converted and Baptized a recorded 2800 people to the Baptist Faith in Hamilton County during his years in the ministry. He also officiated 1335 weddings and 1325 funerals. He was laid to rest in a modest grave next to his family at the Knight's Prarie Cemetery on the Old Goshen Road where he awaits the second coming.

Children: Talitha 1876-1879, Washington 1876-1876, Iva Dora 1878-1922, Effie May 1881-1964, Edith 1884-1959, Joseph 1884-1884, Arthur W 1888-1913, Edward 1891-aft 1910, Carl 1899-1925. Only Effie & Edith survived Rev.TB & Nancy. (This paragraph added by Kathy T Richardson--family descendant.)
