Funeral services are tentatively set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Congregational Church, Pittsville, with the Rev. Raymond Curless officiating. Burial will be made in the Mound cemetery, Pittsville.
The body is reposing at the Hansen Funeral Home in Marshfield. This evening it will be taken to the family home to be there until the time of services.
Mr. Bowman was born Aug. 15, 1874, in Jonesboro, Tenn. He spent his boyhood in Tennessee, receiving his education there. After leaving Tennessee, he traveled through the western states working in the Dakotas, Montana, and Washington. He then entered the Brown Business College in Iowa, and after his graduation, took up apprentice work in contracting and blue print reading, later opening an office of his own.
His marriage to Joanna Meincer took place in Iowa City Dec. 18. 1905. In 1920 they moved to Wisconsin settling 6 1-2 miles northwest of Pittsville, where he purchased a farm. In 1937, he sold his farm to his son-in-law and bought another farm a mile and a half north of Pittsville, residing there until his death. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the Eureka I.O.O.F. lodge of Iowa City.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Ray (Margurite) Rasmessen, Eau Claire, Mrs. Louis (Mildred) Wagner and Mrs. William (Emma) Reynolds, Pittsville; and one son, John, Nekoosa; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Burl Barkley, Jonesboro, Tenn.; and Mrs. Pearl Jackson, Akron, Colo.; and two brothers, Earl, Tarkio, Mo.; and Ernest, Meridian, Texas.
