Hold funeral of B.A. Adams
Waterton District Farmer Who Died Following Seeding Accident
MACLEOD, July 22.—Funeral services for the late Burley Arthur Adams, who died Saturday, July 20, the result of an accident sustained May 2, 1940, were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday July 22 from Trinity United Church, Macleod.

The Rev. P. J. Hartley. 7J.A., B D,, of Milk River conducted the services. Hartley preached an Inspiring and comforting sermon, taking his text from Matthew 24, verse 44. "Therefore be ye also ready; for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh."

With Mrs. OH. Wetherup presiding at the organ the choir sang the hymns "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." while Mrs. Downing gave a beautiful rendition of "No Night There" as a solo.

Floral tributes from a large number of sympathizing friends graced the casket and church, Deceased was laid to rest in the Union cemetery following the service.

Pallbearers were James Boll. Walter Crowson, Jack Little, John ! Mllllgan, Elbert and Edgar Bkelding, all young friends of deceased.

Left to mourn are his widow and , one daughter. Jerry Lorraine aged 2 years and 10 months; his mother. Mrs. M. M. Adams of London, Ontario, two brothers, Jack DeWitt Adams of Toronto, Out., and William Rea Adams of Macleod: various aunts and uncles in Ontario; also other relatives including Mrs. Stan Cornell of Byron. Ont.; Gordon and George Bloomfield of London and Highgate, Ont.; Miss Janet Wells, Edmonton; Dr. W. McFarlane, Calgary; Mrs. Verna Dallmage and family of Medicine Hat and many relatives in the Waterton District.

Accident Cause of Death
Born July 3rd, 1911, at Macleod, deceased was educated at Macleod's public and high schools, later attending the Claresholm Agricultural College, he engaged in farming up to the time of the unfortunate accident on May 2nd which lead to his untimely demise.

On Dec 29 1935 he married Marion E Wintermute, daughter of Mr and Mrs Adrian Wintermute of the Waterton district, in Calgary.

He was an active member of the IOOF, was a good farmer and worker and the unfortunate accident occurred while he was engaged in seeding his 1940 crop. He was highly respected and had a large circle of friends throughout the community.

Relatives present were his wife, Mr & Mrs Adrian Wintermute and family Junior, Aerial, Frank & Lloyd, Mr & Mrs Rea Adams, Mr & Mrs F Wintermute, Mr & Mrs Elmer Wintermute and Mrs Viola McKee.
