The McBrides' cemetery book, 1972 edition, p. 230, says (presumably from ethier reading of the tombstone) that Nancy was born in 1806, but other Internet sources list her date of birth as 7 March 1808, which seems more likely given the age 42 reported for her in the 1850 census and the fact that she had an older brother, John Smith Galloway, born Aug 1806; it is unlikely that the mother would have had two single births in the same calendar year and certainly not in Mar and Aug of the same year. Accordingly, 7 Mar 1808 is used as the date of birth on this memorial despite the McBrides' book.
