Peggy L. Baken-Weed passed away peacefully on October 19, 2013. She was born September 1, 1955 to Andrew and Mabel (Bischoff) Kappel in Ephrata, WA. Peggy raised Corey, Dustin, and Sarah while receiving an education to counsel and advocate for abused women. She served 25 years at the YWCA in Yakima as one of her many passions was empowering women. On July 19, 1991, Peggy married Dave Weed and lovingly accepted three more children: Malissa, Miranda and April.
Peggy is survived by two of her five siblings: Andy and wife Deby Kappel, and Sherry Mallory and husband Jim. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Mabel Bischoff Kappel; brothers Delbert and Jimmy Dean Kappel; and by sister Delilah Kappel Miller.
