Fletcher B. “Dink” Yarbrough, 86, of Ridgeway, Virginia died peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 after a courageous two year battle with cancer. He was born in Kohler, Virginia on December 2, 1929 to the late Richard Hartwell Yarbrough and Mary Turner Yarbrough.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Juanita H. Yarbrough, his daughter, Linda Y. Lavinder and his brothers, Robert, Floyd and Jesse Yarbrough.

Fletcher is survived by his daughter, Donna Yarbrough Taylor (Larry), his grandchildren, Drew Ramsey and friend Katie, Chris Ramsey, Robby and Leah Lavinder, great-grandchildren, Sidney, Ben and Taylor Ramsey and special family friend, Pat Tolbert.

Fletcher served in the U. S. Air Force for seven years from 1946 to 1953 and retired from the U. S. Postal Service with 35 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgeway.

Fletcher will always be remembered for his love of bowling, flowers, birds and yard work. Even though he was at an age to be a father or grandfather to some of his fellow bowlers, it made no difference to him. Everyone enjoyed his companionship and passion for bowling. He was lucky enough to bowl a perfect game at the age of 78, while taking chemotherapy, and then again at the age of 85.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville Chapel with Reverend Donald Kendrick officiating with visitation one hour before the service. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
