LUCIUS ELLIS BRADY was born at Jewell, Ga., May 22, 1891. When he was seventeen years old he was licensed to preach at Sylvester, Ga. He attended Meridian Male College at Meridian, Miss., and Asbury College at Wilmore, Ky. In 1910 he joined the South Georgia Conference. He served the following charges: Early County Circuit, 1911; Faceville Circuit, 1912; Dublin Circuit, 1913-14; Dexter Circuit, 1915; Warthen Circuit, 1916; Jeffersonville Circuit, 1917-18. Here his pastoral service was broken by six months' enlistment as a Y.M.C.A. Secretary during the World War. He then served Jacksonville Circuit, 1919-21; Mount Vernon Circuit, 1922-25; Edison Circuit, 1926-31; East Macon, 1932-34; Baxley from November until April, 1935. In 1911 Brother Brady was married to Miss Jessie Kate Sweat, of Blackshear, Ga. He is survived by his wife, six children, his mother (Mrs. S. A. Brady), one brother, and four sisters. He died at Warren Candler Hospital, Savannah, Ga., April 21, 1935. His body sleeps in Omega Cemetery at Baxley, Ga. -- William M. Haywood.
