Woodrow "Woody" Alexander, 89, of Sale Creek, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at a local assisted living facility.

He was born April 29, 1915, in Sale Creek. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, was an assistant funeral director with Williamson & Sons for many years, was a member of Sale Creek Church of God and Sale Creek Masonic Lodge No. 280. Woodrow was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carldyne.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mickey and Donna Alexander of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sandy Alexander of Hixson; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Carmeledia of Soddy-Daisy; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, in the chapel of funeral home with Bishop Kenneth Bolton officiating.

Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Woody Riggs, Chris Alexander, Danny Alexander, Tommy Alexander, Eugene Adams and Tim Beckett.

There will be a graveside Masonic service by Sale Creek Masonic Lodge No. 280.

Family will receive friends today at funeral home from 2-4 p.m. today.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
