He's my Maternal Uncle. Born on a Thursday, in the home of his parents, Corbin Estel Pennington Sr. age: 35 & Mary "Emma"line (Kiser) Pennington age: 32. He was the 2nd of 3 sons & the 4th born of 5 siblings. [I, Mom of T.L.T., was the 6th sibling, that was raised from my life-saving Maternal Grandparents since I was 6 days of age & later legally adopted by them. Thank U God for them.]

Corbin Jr. is preceded in death by, all 4 grandparents, 4 uncles, 2 aunts, 1 niece, 1 nephew, a brother David Lee Pennington- age: 11 months, his father Corbin Sr. & an stillborn son, Corbin E. Pennington the 3rd. Survivors were his wife, Geraldine "Gerry" (Sizemore), Pennington-age: 37, their 2nd child & son, Frank Pennington-age: 18, their two pets, "Barney" the Saint Bernard & "Missy" a Blonde Labrador, 3 sisters & 1 brother. "Missy" the Labrador, was given to them by his Mother, Emma, age 80.

He had been on duty in Korea as a Medic on the front line & received The Good Conduct ribbon, the Medical Combat Medal & was awarded the Bronze Star for outstanding service & bravery. During one skirmish, he was the only man in his company not killed in battle. He recalled having to play dead as one of the enemy soldiers' walked over the top of him. In one of the letters to his family, he wrote, "I reckon God has been with me all the way." ~ Our parents were warriors in prayer & never once, gave up on their faith or the power of God.

He could well play the Mandolin, the Ukulele & Harmonica & would get together with his older brother Don, that could play guitar, along with their friends & they all would sing & play some good tunes. This went on every weekend for about 5 years in our home, as I grew up with them. His all time favorite thing to do since childhood was FISHING, day or night. He lived & breathed it on up to his illness. A few years prior to his death, he worked months on building a train set, where the train rode thru tunnels, up mountains & across bridges. It was fun entertainment to watch.

A super salesman was his living. From the early 1960's thru the 1970's he had a challenge of several jobs. He was a door-to-door salesman for the Fuller Brush Company, he also went door-to-door selling shoes. He drove an ice cream truck, he sold encyclopedias door-to-door. He once owned his own furniture store on the east side of Hamilton, OH. He was the top salesman at Rinks Bargain Barn in Hamilton, OH. & the top salesman at the Levitz store, furniture department, in Cincinnati, OH. He went on to do television commercials for them as well.

As stated by his older brother Don, Corbin Jr. started smoking at the age of 3 years. In the last 2 years of just under a 20 year marriage, he had suffered 3 heart attacks, which probably contributed of his being over-weight & a 2-pack a day cigarette smoker, (Pall Mall non-filtered.) He was diagnosed of having Cancer in his brain, lungs, stomach & liver. He was in ICU (intensive care unit), in Bethesda Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. His doctor told Gerry, his wife, that Corbin Jr. had the most, just 4 months to live. He died 2 months later, on a Sunday at 3:00 A.M. His age: 48 yrs. & 27 days. On Thursday, August 14, 2031, Corbin Jr. will be deceased the same amount of time, as the time God allowed him to live on this earth.
