The following is transcribed from newspaper clippings found in an old photo album belonging to my Granny, Opal Wilson Terrell.

J. A. Wilson Passes Away (headline)

Funeral services for J. A Wilson, 65, who died, suddenly at his home Sunday night, were held Tuesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock at the Cryer cemetery with the Rev. Hammett, of DeRidder, officiaing, assited by the Masons.

Mr. Wilson, a life time resident of this parish, was, until his retirement due to filing health, engaged in farming in the Savage Fork community. He also took an active part in politicis and was a member of the Police Jury when the present court house was built.

Besides his widow, Mrs. Mary Blackmon Wilson, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Opie Terrell, of Palestine; Mrs. Zelma Tuck, of Leesville and Mrs. Ruby Alford, of Sloat, Calif.; four sons, Kimble and Lucas Wilson, of Leesville; Woodrow and Fern Wilson, of Orland, Calif. Two brothers, W. H. and J. H. Wilson of Leesville, two sister, Mrs. J. A. Tetts, of Leesville and Mrs. J. W. Cryer, of Pickering.
