Parents were Miles & Nancy Mary (Isler) Cannon. The spelling of his name has been shown as Wyley on two of his children's death certificates.

He married Mary Ann 'Milley' Green on May 25, 1948 in Wilkinson County, Georgia. They had the following children: Miles Eason, William M, Elizabeth Frances 'Eliza', Benjamin Wiley, Sarah Jane, John Franklin, Nancy Alice Cannon.

From the information I have seen on ancestry.com, Wiley joined the Civil War about 1861 or 1862. His last child was born, possibly after he left. Nancy Alice Cannon was born on September 23, 1862. At the time, Wiley, and his wife & children had moved to Alabama (according to the 1860 census), where he enlisted in Company E, Alabama 12th Cavalry Regiment. His wife & children are back in Turkey Creek, Wilkinson, Georgia in the 1870 census and she is listed as a widow. I found somewhere, that Lewis was killed on March 4, 1863 in Shelbyville, Tennessee, during the Civil War. His grave site is unknown at the time.

I looked for his name in the Willow Mount Cemetery, Shelbyville, Tennessee, but his name was not found. This cemetery entombs Civil War Soldiers. See link: http://www.tennessee-scv.org/camp155/Dr%20Bradley,Civil%20War/cwrc/cemshelby.html

If any other information is known, please let me know, so I can update this memorial.
