Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Bauer passed away early Saturday morning, September 6, 2008 at Healthsource in Saginaw Twp., age 89 years. She was born the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Herbolsheimer) Leinberger June 2, 1919 in Frankenlust Twp. and had resided in this area all her life. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church (Amelith). On November 2, 1940 she married Roland E. Bauer, he survives her.
Also surviving are four children: Leslie (Shirley) Bauer, Bay City, Patsy (Ernie) May, Allendale, Connie (Dennis) Mehl, Freeland, Archie (Nancy) Bauer, Bay City; eight grandchildren: Tammy (Aaron) Wrona, Jeff (Lacy) Bauer, Becki (Aaron) Smith, Joshua May, Trever (Kristin) Mehl, Michael (Brenda) Mehl, Jamie (Steve) Gregory, Casey Bauer and his fiancée, Kayla Trombley; great-grandchildren, Noah and Gavin Mehl and Brenya May; two sisters, Norma Hoeppner, Esther Miller; sister-in-law, Wilma Arnold; brother-in-law, Erich Bauer and many nieces, nephews and a dear friend, Norma Washabaugh. She was also predeceased by a son, Terry Lee Bauer; two sisters, Leona and Edna and brothers-in-laws and sisters in-laws.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 9, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church (Mackinaw & Amelith Roads) Amelith. Rev. Stephen P. Starke will officiate, burial will follow in the church cemetery. Florence's family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. On Tuesday morning Florence will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy, envelopes for St. John Lutheran Church and School (Amelith) will be available at the funeral home.
