Darlene R. Hunt, 84, of Great Bend, passed away at her home in Great Bend on Saturday morning, June 27, 2015, after a brief illness. Born on March 5, 1931, at Alexander, she was the daughter of Walter H. and Minnie (Krug) Boese. In 1947, she graduated from Alexander High School and worked for the former Parsons-Williams Funeral Home (now Prairie Rose Funeral Home) in Anthony for 15 years. She later worked both as a Chiropractic Assistant for Dr. Whealy Chiropractic and as a cook for Park Hill Lanes for 20 years in Anthony. On Jan. 26, 2005, she was united in marriage to James H. Hunt at Whiteville, Tenn. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Darlene was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at Prince Of Peace Parish in Great Bend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Doug Seachris, one great-granddaughter, Abigail Seachris; two brothers; and one sister.
According to her wishes, cremation has been chosen. There will be no viewing or services at this time. A Graveside Memorial Service and inurnment will be held at the Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood at a later date.
