Fred C. Barbeau, 48-year-old personnel manager for the Fruco Construction Company which is building the small arms ammunition plant in St. Louis, died of heart disease at 7 o'clock last night in the Desloge Hospital, St. Louis, following a five-day illness. He resided at 1102 McCausland Avenue, St. Louis.
Mr. Barbeau was born in Belleville on September 27, 1893 and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barbeau, nee Anna Staufenbiel. His mother was a native of Belleville. He married Stella Engler in Belleville on July 14, 1929. The couple moved from Belleville about eight years ago.
Surviving are his wife; a son, David Barbeau, at home and and step-son, Lieutenant E. C. Burckhart, Camp Stewart, Havanna, Ga.
