Charles M. Love is in receipt of a telegram telling of the death, March 20, of A.J. Cass at his home in Ashland, Wis.
Mr. Cass was a lumberman here in the early days of Ludington and with his family lived on north Harrison street in the house, now occupied by Mrs. Eva Rohrs. He was a member of Appolo Commandery, No. 31, Knights Templar, and prominent in business and social circles.
The telegram states that Mrs. Cass is too ill to travel, at present, and that the remains will be placed in a vault at Ashland until she is better, when she will accompany them to Ludington for interment in Lakeview cemetery, where other members of the family are buried.
