BLANCHARDVILLE - James A. Anderson, age 85, formerly of Blanchardville, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 1976, at the Bloomfield Manor, Dodgeville. Born in Hollandale on July 28, 1890, he was a son of Gilbert and Penille (Hagen) Anderson (Dahlen). He was married on April 17, 1912, at the Yellowstone Lutheran Church to Ella S. Watrud. They farmed in the Hollandale area until 1955, retiring to Blanchardville. His wife preceded him in death on June 3, 1970. He was a member of Hollandale Lutheran Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Lila) Vinje, Hollandale; ten grandchildren, Elizabeth Bottl, Paul, Edward and Donald Vinje, Marian, Lois, Janice and Donna Anderson, Robert and Ronnie Johnson; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Herbert, in 1969; six brothers, Oscar, John, Henry, Otto, Julius and Theodore; four sisters, Sara, Mary, Amanda and Julia; and twin daughter and son in infancy.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 4, at Hollandale Lutheran Church.
