James Edward "Jim" Neeley, Sr., 78, entered Heaven's gates on June 28, 2015 in Memphis after a lengthy illness. He served his Lord faithfully and was actively involved at Memphis First Assembly of God Church. He was a proud graduate of Mississippi State University. He worked for the Department of Defense and retired after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Tennessee Genealogical Society as well as the East Shelby Republican Club. He had many friends and will especially be missed by his regular breakfast buddies.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Neeley; daughter Pam Coley (Larry) of Germantown, TN; two sons, Ed Neeley (Becky) and Chris Neeley of Memphis, daughter-in-law Terri Lacey Neeley of Starkville, MS; seven grandchildren, David Coley (Emily) of Shawnee, OK, Jonathan Coley of Nashville, TN, Alex and Grace Neeley of Memphis, and Mary Frances, Maggie, and William Neeley of Starkville; two sisters, Christine McCarver and Arlene Grissom of Tupelo, MS; and a brother, Charles Neeley of South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his son Marty Neeley, his sister Louise Wesson, as well as his parents.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2pm on Thursday, July 2nd at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue. The family will receive friends from noon until the service time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to First Assembly of God Church or the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be made at Memphisfuneralhome.net.
