George F. Ahearn, 68, of East Syracuse, passed away Monday at home. George was a custodian with the ES-M School District retiring after 30 years. George had a big, kind heart and would go the extra mile for all that knew him, and he loved spending time with his family, especially around the holidays. George was an amateur chef and an avid collector of cooking memorabilia; he had accumulated over 300 cook books. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Mildred Kelley Ahearn and a brother, Harry. George is survived by two sisters, Patricia (Stephen) Banach, Mary Wisniewski; a brother, Joe all of East Syracuse, several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7 in St. Mary's Cemetery, Minoa.
